PRESCRIPCION. La acción o investigación por violación o infracción de cualquiera de las normas de Marina Mercante prescribe en el término de un (1) año, contado a partir de la realización del hecho. La iniciación de la investigación respectiva, siempre que medie notificación del interesado, interrumpe este término de prescripción. La sanción a que hubiere lugar prescribirá en dos (2) años a partir de la ejecutoria de la providencia que la impuso, conforme al artículo 9 de la Ley 2 de 1984.
