Los institutos de medicina legal dependiente del ministerio de justicia podrán vender los sobrantes de las drogas y sustancias estupefacientes o psicotrópicas y de las que produzcan dependencias física o síquica que hayan recibido como muestra para peritaciones.

Esta venta sólo se hará en los términos que señale el estatuto que el gobierno expida con base en la ley 17 de 1973.

Las sumas recaudadas ingresarán a una cuenta especial administrada por el fondo rotatorio del ministerio de justicia y se destinarán a mejorar los servicios medicolegales.
