El área técnico-científica del Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi comprende los empleos cuyas funciones se relacionan directamente con la investigación científica, la transferencia de tecnología, la asesoría y la consultoría en los diferentes campos de los Sensores Remotos, los Sistemas de Información Georreferenciada, la Cartografía, la Agrología, la Geografía y el Catastro.
