Cuando se renuncie o declare caducado un contrato de exploración y explotación de petróleo de propiedad nacional antes de vencerse los primeros veinte años del período de explotación, los estudios y documentos correspondientes pasarán a ser propiedad del Gobierno Nacional, y las zonas respectivas serán contratadas en las condiciones del artículo anterior.
