En lo sucesivo el registro de libros mercantiles que de acuerdo con lo establecido en el Código de comercio se hace actualmente por las Cámaras de Comercio, se llevará señalando con un número de serie, en riguroso orden ascendente, la respectiva nota de registro, tanto en el libro que para tal efecto se lleva en las Cámaras de Comercio, como en cada uno de los libros registrados. Tal número deberá comprender la serie de libros que abre el comerciante, haciéndole preceder la palabra serie . Cuando el comerciante sólo registre un libro, debe llevar simplemente el número que le corresponde en el registro de la respectiva Cámara de Comercio.
