El Gerente de la Zona es de libre nombramiento y remoción del Presidente de la República, tendrá la representación legal de la institución y todos los actos que ejecute en nombre de la misma, debidamente autorizado, serán obligatorios para ésta. Mientras se realizan los estudios y se toman las determinaciones a que se refiere el artículo 11 de este Decreto el nombramiento de Gerente podrá recaer en uno cualquiera de los miembros de la Junta Directiva de la Zona correspondiente. En este caso el cargo de Gerente será ejercido ad honórem.
