º. La "Medalla Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad", en el grado "Servicios Distinguidos", categoría "Especial", se otorgará a los funcionarios del DAS, entidades públicas o privadas, personas naturales y empleados públicos que hayan prestado eminentes servicios a la institución y su espíritu de cooperación y auxilios haya sido fundamental para el cumplimiento de las tareas y objetivos que la ley le ha señalado. En la categoría "Gran Medalla", cuando además de haber ejecutado eximias tareas, con ellas se haya contribuido a fortalecer la seguridad pública o a engrandecer el nombre y prestigio de la institución.
