Origen. Creada mediante Decreto 1261 del cuatro (4) de julio de 2000, para estimular y premiar la afición y esfuerzo de los integrantes de las Fuerzas Militares, Policía Nacional, Servidores Públicos del Sector Defensa que sobresalgan por sus méritos deportivos en competencias Nacionales o internacionales, así como a quienes contribuyan de la manera excepcional al fortalecimiento y desarrollo de la Federación Colombiana Deportiva Militar.
