La presente ley tiene como fundamento permitir que la Nación se asocie a la conmemoración y rinda público homenaje al municipio de Montebello (departamento de Antioquia), con motivo de la celebración de los cien (100) años de su erección, que se cumplirá el 1° de julio de 2013. Así mismo, rinde homenaje a sus primeros pobladores y exalta la memoria de sus fundadores.
