ORIGEN. Créase la Medalla Militar “Bicentenario de la Caballería” en categoría única para premiar y estimular por una sola vez al personal de Oficiales y Suboficiales del arma de Caballería, soldados profesionales, servidores públicos del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional al servicio del Ejército Nacional y de la Caballería, unidades de militares del arma; igualmente al personal de Oficiales y Suboficiales de la reserva quienes hicieron parte de la Caballería Colombiana postulados por los Comandantes de las unidades de Caballería.
