Autoridades de policía. La primera autoridad de policía en la Nación, es el Presidente de la República; en los Departamentos, Intendencias y Comisarías el Gobernador, Intendente o Comisario y en el Distrito Especial de Bogotá y en los demás Municipios el Alcalde. A las autoridades de policía corresponde mantener el orden público interno en sus respectivas jurisdicciones y restablecerlo cuando fuere turbado.
