Podrá expedirse pasaporte fronterizo, con validez de un año, al solicitante que no tenga registrado su nacimiento en Colombia y se acoja a los procedimientos de Inscripción de Registro de Nacimiento por correo. Una vez se haya obtenido copia del Registro Civil, el interesado podrá solicitar que el pasaporte sea revalido, gratuitamente por el período que falte para completar la vigencia de cinco (5) años.
