Corresponde a la Contraloría General de la República ejercer la vigilancia de la gestión fiscal del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Geológico Mineras, mediante reglamentación especial para ello se tendrá en cuenta la naturaleza de las funciones en comendadas al Instituto y, especialmente, la necesidad de que sus trabajos no sufran dilaciones ni interrupciones injustificadas.
