Para los efectos previstos en esta Ley, se adoptan las siguientes definiciones:

IPC: Indice de Precios al Consumidor calculado por el Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística (Dane) para el total nacional, total de artículos y el total de ingresos, o el índice que haga sus veces.

Inflación: Variación acumulada del IPC durante un año calendario.

Meta de Inflación: Es el porcentaje de inflación que se espera para el año siguiente según determinación que adopte al final de cada año la Junta Directiva del Banco de la República o la entidad que haga sus veces.

Valores: Cifras monetarias en pesos colombianos.
