Los archivos, desde el punto de vistaterritorial, se clasifican en:

a)

Archivos de entidades del orden nacional;

b)

Archivos de entidades del orden departamental;

c)

Archivos de entidades del orden distrital;

d)

Archivos de entidades del orden metropolitano;

e)

Archivos de entidades del orden municipal;

f)

Archivos de entidades del orden local;

g)

Archivos de las nuevas entidades territoriales que se creen por ley;

h)

Archivos de los territorios indígenas, que se crearán cuando la ley los desarrolle.
