El Departamento de Contraloría estará a cargo de un funcionario denominado Contralor General de la República , y de un ayudante denominado Auditor General , quienes serán nombrados por el Poder Ejecutivo Nacional, con la aprobación de la Cámara de Representantes, y devengaran salarios no inferiores a seis mil pesos ($6,000) y cuatro mil pesos ($4,000), anuales, respectivamente.
