El Rector de la Universidad Pedagógica de Colombia será designado por el señor Presidente de la República, de terna presentada por el Consejo Directivo para períodos de cuatro años, y la designación debe recaer en persona que reúna los siguientes requisitos: No ser menor de 35 años de edad, y ostentar título académico, probada versación en la docencia universitaria, sólida reputación moral e intachable vida cívica.
