º. La declaración de las enfermedades tiene por objeto tomar medidas profilácticas en defensa de la sociedad y formar las estadísticas vital y epidemiológica de la Nación. La declaración se hará a la autoridad sanitaria que designe la Dirección Nacional de Higiene y Asistencia Pública y en su defecto al Alcalde Municipal o al Corregidor, la declaración que se haga a estas autoridades de policía tendrá por objeto comunicar el hecho al correspondiente Director de Higiene y cumplir con lo dispuesto en el artículo 9º de la Ley 66 de 1.916.
