Admitida la demanda, el Juez de Menores le dará curso según el procedimiento de jurisdicción voluntaria que señala el artículo 651 del Código de Procedimiento Civil. El Defensor de Menores desempeñará dentro del proceso las funciones que dicho artículo señala al agente del Ministerio Público. Si el adoptante muere antes de proferirse la sentencia, el Juez ordenará la notificación de la existencia del proceso a sus herederos, dando aplicación, si fuere necesario, a los artículos 81 y 318 del Código de Procedimiento Civil.
