La Corporación Proveedora de Instituciones de Asistencia Social -"Corpal" de que trata la Ley 28 de 1963, es un Establecimiento Público, descentralizado, esto es, un organismo dotado de personería jurídica, autonomía administrativa y patrimonio independiente. La Corporación estará adscrita al Ministerio de Salud Pública; su domicilio será la cuidad de Bogotá D. E., pero podrá establecer dependencia en otros lugares del país.
