En las poblaciones donde funcionen hospitales subvencionados por el Tesoro Público, con sumas superiores a quinientos pesos ($ 500), habrá un departamento destinado al servicio de maternidad.

Parágrafo

En los hospitales de que trata este Artículo, que estuvieren a cargo de comunidades religiosas de mujeres, cuyos estatutos les prohíban prestar servicios en salas de maternidad, se establecerán pabellones especiales que serán atendidos por particulares competentes.
