Debe existir un medio de comunicación (timbre, campana, teléfono, tubería, alumbrado, entre otros) entre el punto de operación del malacate y los puntos de cargue y descargue en el interior de las labores mineras subterráneas, que permita el intercambio de señales; estos elementos deben ser a prueba de explosión, certificada por el fabricante en caso de ser minería de carbón.
