Art. 1º Siempre que llegue á noticia de los Jueces municipales ó de Circuito que en el, territorio de su jurisdicción ha fallecido un extranjero sin dejar albacea, cónyuge ó herederos, á cuyo cargo deban estar los bienes dejados por él, procederán inmediatamente á cumplir las disposiciones de los artículos 1237 y 1238 del Código Judicial, y darán cuanta por el inmediato correo al Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de la iniciación del procedimiento de oficio, acompañando copia autorizada y por duplicado de la respectiva acta de defunción. Estas copias serán autenticadas por la autoridad local y enviadas por conducto de la Gobernación del Departamento, en donde á la vez también serán autenticadas.
