Articulación con el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible. El Invemar adelantará prioritariamente los estudios, investigaciones, inventarios y actividades de seguimiento y manejo de información, de acuerdo con su objeto, orientados a:

Fundamentar la toma de decisiones de políticas por parte del Ministerio;

Suministrar las bases técnicas para el establecimiento de normas, disposiciones y regulaciones para el ordenamiento del territorio, el manejo, uso y aprovechamiento del medio ambiente y los recursos naturales renovables.

Parágrafo

Las necesidades y prioridades a que hace referencia el presente artículoserán informadas al Invemar por parte del Ministro de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible, a través de la Junta Directiva.
