El investigador tendrá un término máximo de treinta (30) días para perfeccionar la investigación vencido el cual formulará dentro de los cinco (5) días siguientes las cargos correspondientes, si encontrare mérito para ello. En caso contrario, ordenará el archivo del expediente mediante resolución motivada. Si el investigador fuere comisionado, una vez perfeccionada la investigación la pasará al Comitente junto con un informe evaluativo, para que resuelva sobre la formulación de cargos o sobre el archivo. Cuando quiera que se ordene la ampliación de una investigación, el término para adelantar no podrá exceder de quince (15) días.
