Article 3

La Gendarmería Tiene La Misión Especial De Conducir Los Correos Nacionales, Y Además: A) Proteger Las Personas Y Las Propiedades, Tanto En Las Ciudades, Donde Tenga Acantonamientos Como En Las Vías Que Recorra; B) Velar Por El Estricto Cumplimiento De Las Leyes Que Rigen En El País, Las Ordenanzas Del Respectivo Departamento Y Las Órdenes Y Disposiciones De Las Autoridades Constituidas; Y C) Ejercer Las Funciones Que Actualmente Tienen Las Gendarmerías Y Cuerpos De Policía En Los Departamentos

° La Gendarmería tiene la misión especial de conducir los correos nacionales, y además

Proteger las personas y las propiedades, tanto en las ciudades, donde tenga acantonamientos como en las vías que recorra;

Velar por el estricto cumplimiento de las leyes que rigen en el país, las ordenanzas del respectivo Departamento y las órdenes y disposiciones de las autoridades constituidas; y

Ejercer las funciones que actualmente tienen las Gendarmerías y Cuerpos de Policía en los Departamentos.
