Art. 2°. Son causales de pensión:

Tiempo de servicio en la guerra de la Independencia;

Hecho señalado y heroico ejecutado en defensa de la Nación o del Gobierno legítimo y que haya ilustrado el nombre de su autor, colocándolo en primera línea entre los beneméritos de la Patria.

Dirección suprema, con mando de ejército, de campañas y batallas de excepcional importancia en defensa de la Nación o de las instrucciones, que hayan ilustrado el nombre de su autor;

Servicios prestados a la Republica en guerra exterior que hayan merecido condecoración a sus autores o mención honorifica;

Tiempo de servicio posterior a la guerra de Independencia.
