La maniobra marítima de practicaje que realice un buque será ejecutada bajo la asesoría de un piloto práctico con licencia vigenteexpedida por la Autoridad Marítima Nacional. Cuando en desarrollo de la maniobra de practicaje, el buque sufra un accidente o siniestro marítimo, el piloto no podrá desembarcar hasta tanto no se hayan agotado todos los medios de salvamento, o el Capitán del buque decida el abandono de éste.
