° Los empleados públicos de la Policía Nacional que reúnan los requisitos establecidos en el Decreto - ley 1214 de 1990, podrán ser promovidos dentro de las diferentes categorías sin exceder el número de planta fijada en el presente Decreto, siempre y cuando la disponibilidad presupuestal así lo permita.
