La Dirección General de Impuestos Nacionales podrá supervisar el desarrollo de los programas y tareas de sistematización del impuesto sobre las ventas que adelanta el Centro de Información y Sistemas (CIS) y adoptar en relación con dicha dependencia, las normas de control técnico y administrativo necesarias para la eficaz tecnificación del impuesto.
