La Contraloría General de la República ejercerá la vigilancia sobre el manejo de las fondos o bienes del Instituto por medio de Auditores de su dependencia y con aplicación de reglamentos acordes con la índole de la entidad y el género de actividades a ella encomendada, de modo que dejen a salvo su autonomía administrativa, según las normas establecidas por los Decretos 2420 de 1968 y 133 de 1976, las disposiciones reglamentarias y el presente estatuto orgánico.
