DE LA IMPOSICION DE SANCIONES. La sanción de destitución prevista en el artículo anterior, será aplicada por la autoridad que hizo la designación o el nombramiento, o por la Procuraduría General de la Nación, una vez establecidos los hechos que den lugar a la misma. Directamente o mediante un funcionario de su dependencia, la autoridad nominadora hará las averiguaciones pertinentes o adelantará la investigación a que hubiere lugar.
