La República de Colombia honra la memoria del eminente hombre público, doctor Aníbal Badel, quien en su larga y meritoria vida ocupara altas dignidades oficiales y políticas, como las de Diputado a la Asamblea de Bolívar y Gobernador del mismo Departamento, Representante a la Cámara, Senador de la República, Ministro del Despacho, Presidente del honorable Consejo de Estado, Designado a la Presidencia, y Presidente de la Dirección Nacional del Liberalismo.
