Oficinas regionales y seccionales . La Dirección General Marítima y Portuaria cuenta con dependencias regionales y/o seccionales denominadas Capitanías de Puerto en los Puertos marítimos y fluviales de su jurisdicción, las cuales ejercerán las funciones de la Dirección en el área asignada de acuerdo con la ley y los reglamentos. La Direc ción General Marítima y Portuaria con la aprobación del Gobierno podrá crear nuevas Capitanías de Puerto.
