REGISTRO DE TRANSPORTADORES MARITIMOS. La resolución que autorice a una persona natural o jurídica para prestar servicio de transporte marítimo público o privado, ordenará su inscripción en el libro de registro como transportador marítimo. Si el transportador no posee naves de su propiedad para prestar el servicio el registro será provisional, hasta cuando adquiera una nave de bandera colombiana, en cuyo caso el registro se tornará definitivo. Ningún registro provisional podrá tener una validez superior a nueve (9) meses.

Parágrafo

Los armadores colombianos que actualmente prestan servicio de transporte marítimo público o privado, a fin de inscribirse en el registro de transportadores marítimos, deberán dentro de los tres (3) meses siguientes a la vigencia del presente Decreto, presentar la solicitud correspondiente.
