Los funcionarios electorales, permanentes o transitorios, que tengan conocimiento de la comisión de un delito contra el sufragio, lo denunciarán inmediatamente ante la autoridad competente y acompañarán a su denuncia todos los documentos pertinentes, indicando, además, los nombres y direcciones, en lo posible, de los testigos que tengan conocimiento del hecho. La omisión o retardo injustificados de esta obligación es causal de mala conducta que implica la pérdida del empleo, sin perjuicio de las demás sanciones previstas en la Ley.
