En las obras a que se refiere el Artículo 12 de la Ley 129 de 1913 quedan comprendidos el puente sobre el rio Magdalena, destinado a empalmar el ferrocarril de Girardot con el del Tolima, y el muelle o muelles necesarios para el atraque de las embarcaciones en el sitio o sitios más adecuados del puerto de Girardot, en cualquiera de las dos bandas del rio. Para la construcción del puente, el Gobierno abrirá un concurso entre las principales casas fabricantes.
