El personal de carrera de dedicación exclusiva y en la categoría de profesor asociado o superior a ésta, tendrá derecho, cada seis años de servicio cumplido, a recibir de la institución su sueldo durante un año completo fuera de servicio, siempre que continúe en una labor científica- investigativa o de estudio dedicada a la institución o conveniente para ella. Los Consejos Médico y Académico reglamentarán la forma de otorgar este beneficio.
