Art. 53. Las papeletas para la elección de Electores contendrán para principales los nombres de tantos individuos como el cuociente de la división por mil del número de habitantes del Distrito, e igual número de nombres para suplentes, o sea un Elector principal y un suplente por cada mil habitantes.

Cuando un Distrito tenga menos de mil habitantes elegirá, sin embargo, un Elector y las papeletas contendrán el nombre de un candidato para principal y el de otro para suplente.
