La República lamenta como desgracia nacional la muerte del preclaro ciudadano doctor Juan Nepomuceno González Vásquez, como distinguido ingeniero colombiano que honor a su Patria con sus virtudes cívicas y privadas y con las obras que construyo dentro y fuera del país; obras que son gloria al mismo tiempo del ilustre ingeniero y de la Patria colombiana.
