Para ingresar al Cuerpo de Custodia y Vigilancia Nacional como guardián, se requiere acreditar los siguientes requisitos:

1.

Ser colombiano.

2.

Tener más de dieciocho años y menos de veinticinco de edad al momento de su nombramiento.

3.

Poseer título de bachiller en cualquiera de sus modalidades.

4.

Tener definida su situación militar.

5.

Demostrar antecedentes morales.

6.

No haber sido condenado mediante sentencia judicial por ningún delito.

7.

Obtener certificado de aptitud psicofísica expedido por la Caja Nacional de Previsión Social.

8.

Aprobar el curso de formación en la Escuela Penitenciaria Nacional.

Parágrafo

Podrán ingresar al Cuerpo de Custodia y Vigilancia Penitenciaria Nacional, quienes hayan aprobado el tercer año de bachillerato, siempre y cuando sean reservistas de primera clase y llenen los demás requisitos establecidos en el presente artículo.
