El Director del establecimiento dará cuenta a la Dirección General de Prisiones del número y nombre de los condenados que posean una cultura, sobresaliente, para que señale la manera más apropiada de utilizar sus conocimientos. Los condenados que revelen excepcionales capacidades artísticas o científicas, pueden dedicarse a los estudios o trabajos de su arte o ciencia, siempre que, a solicitud del Director, lo permita la Dirección General de Prisiones y que no se perturbe la disciplina interna.
