Art. 2.° Este monumento será fundido en bronce, y contendrá una estatua del Almirante Cristóbal Colón y otra de la Reina Isabel de Castilla. El pedestal, que será de mármol blanco, llevará en letras de oro la siguiente inscripción:

"La República de Colombia al insigne Almirante Cristóbal Colón descubridor de la América, y a la digna protectora de su empresa la Ilustre Reina Católica Doña Isabel de Castilla. 12 de Octubre de1892,"
