El servicio Colombiano de Meteorología e Hidrología es un Establecimiento Público, esto es, con personería jurídica, autonomía administrativa y patrimonio independiente, adscrito al Ministerio de Agricultura, que se organiza conforme a las normas establecidas por el Decreto número 2420 de 1938, las reglamentarias de ésta y las contenidas en los presentes Estatutos.
