Art. 6.° Segrégase del Departamento del Tolima para agregarlo al del Cauca, una faja de territorio delimitada por una línea imaginaria que partiendo de Inzá, vía Patíco, vaya á terminar en Nátaga, en la frontera del Cauca. Esta línea se trasará por los linderos que actualmente tengan con otros del Tolima los Municipios ó Distritos tolimenses de la Plata, Paícol, Carnicerías y Nátaga, los cuales quedarán incorporados al Cauca. Estos Distritos ó Municipios, unidos á todos los caucanos de Tierradentro, situados en la región oriental de la Cordillera Central, partiendo del divortio aquarum hacia la hoya del Páez, formarán una nueva Provincia, caucana que se denominará de La Plata, y tendrá por capital la ciudad de este nombre.
