En concordancia con el texto de excepción del artículo 197 de la Constitución, reitérase el derecho político y jurídico de Senadores y Representantes a ser elegidos a la Presidencia y Vicepresidencia de la República. Por tanto, el texto del numeral 8°. del artículo 179 de la Constitución es inaplicable a Senadores y Representantes que resulten elegidos Presidente o Vicepresidente de la Nación, tal cual lo indica el precitado artículo 197 de la Constitución Nacional.
