El Plan Operativo Anual de Inversión, una vez sea aprobado por el Consejo Nacional de Política Económica y Social -Conpes-, será remitido a la Dirección General del Presupuesto, para determinar los proyectos de inversión que se Incorporarán en el proyecto de Presupuesto General de la Nación, siguiendo las prioridades establecidas por el Departamento Nacional de Planeación.
