El Sistema Específico de Carrera de los Cuerpos Oficiales de Bomberos, tiene por objeto propender por la eficiencia y la eficacia en el logro de los fines de estos; ofrecer igualdad de oportunidades para el acceso y la promoción en el servicio; promover el desarrollo integral, la capacitación, la participación y el bienestar de sus empleados. La administración y vigilancia del Sistema Específico de Carrera de los Cuerpos Oficiales de Bomberos será ejercida por la Comisión Nacional del Servicio Civil.
