ORIGEN Y CATEGORÍA. La Medalla "Cadete José María Rosillo" se crea en concordancia con el artículo 47 del Decreto 1776 de 1979 Reglamento de Régimen Disciplinario para las Fuerzas Militares, como mérito académico para estimular a los alumnos de la Escuela Militar de Cadetes "General José María Córdova" que se destacaren por su excelente rendimiento académico, conducta, iniciativa e interés por el servicio. Ostenta una sola categoría.
