La Medalla "Escuela de Lanceros" fue creada por Resolución número 00236 del 4 de septiembre de 1980 del Comando del Ejército, para distinguir a quienes se hayan caracterizado por sus servicios eminentes en el mantenimiento de la mística y tradiciones que nos legaron los lanceros de la Campaña Libertadora. Ostenta una sola categoría.
